10.25. Libtool-1.5.22 64 Bit

The Libtool package contains the GNU generic library support script. It wraps the complexity of using shared libraries in a consistent, portable interface.

10.25.1. Installation of Libtool

Prepare Libtool for compilation:

CC="gcc ${BUILD64}" ./configure --prefix=/usr \
   --libdir=/usr/lib64

Compile the package:

make

To test the results, issue: make check.

Install the package:

make install

Installed programs: libtool and libtoolize

Installed libraries: libltdl.[a,so]

libtool	Provides generalized library-building support services
libtoolize	Provides a standard way to add libtool support to a package
